COSMOS EXPLAINS PENNY PERFECT AND SALLY SLOPPY
The fable, Penny Perfect and Sally Sloppy, is a story about learning to do your best. Doing your best is difficult and people are confused about it. The basis of the problem has to do with Stinky Thinking.
Because you allow your Stinky Thinking to determine your emotions and behaviors, you can’t trust yourself when it comes to deciding if you have done your best.
In the story, it was easy to recognize Sally’s Stinky Thinking. She wanted to hurry up and finish her web, then go and do something fun. She told herself; This is too much trouble or I don’t have to do this now or This is a waste of my time.
By telling herself these things, she made herself frustrated and eager to finish. Her work was sloppy and of no value. Then she made excuses, like catching the near-sighted or slow bugs.
You can tell yourself things just like Sally and you will also feel frustrated and eager to finish. Like Sally, your work (in school or at home) will be sloppy and of no value.
