FreedomMile | July 4,2019at7:30am Louisianas Old State Capitol
Series of 1-mile flights flat and fast all the way down River Road. Race starts near the casino and heads south on River Road finishing at the Old State Capitol. Limousine bus service will bring runners from the race festivities to the starting line.

• 8:20 am Youth (ages 14 and under)
• 8:40 am Open Division Female
• 9:00 am Open Division Male
• 9:20 am Parent & Child 1/2 Mile Fun Run

A musical celebration of our nation’s birthday. We will be playing partiotic music and marches that celebrate the United States of America through its 243 years of existence.
The USS KIDD has been hosting a 4th of July celebration in the downtown Baton Rouge area for over two decades. In that time, it has developed into an incredible family event that celebrates our nation’s freedom.
Visitors will be able to participate in the following events:
• Popsicle Parade
• Hotdog Eating Contest
• Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest
As well as enjoy the musical entertainment and visit the numerous food and drink vendors available. The festivities start at 4:00 PM and the evening culminates with WBRZ’s Fireworks on the Mississippi River sponsored by the USS KIDD!
