Fighting a Dragon! Sounds pretty scary. When we talk about dragons in your world, we really are talking about things you fear or avoid. It may be a mean classmate. It may be studying for a test.
It may be reading out loud. It may be saying, “I’m sorry.” Anything you are afraid of, (but have no real good reason to fear) can be a “dragon.” You make it (studying, reading out loud, apologizing) scary, because of your Stinky Thinking and you never learn how to deal with it effectively.
The Queen was afraid of the Dragon but she used her Good Thinking to control her fear and thus she was able to face it. Rather than being eaten up by her Dragon, it just ran away. A lot of your fears are like that. You must talk to yourself into doing what ever is necessary to confront your personal “Dragon.” It will never be easy and you may have to confront your fears over and over again. But in the end, your Good Thinking will beat any “Dragon Fear.”

The Queen was afraid of the Dragon. But she told herself things that helped her face the Dragon. What did she tell herself?
When she had those coping thoughts, how was she feeling?
Why did she tell the others that if the dragon ever came back that they would have to face it again?
Why did she know some would not help the next time?
