One Year and Now Divorce
Mrs. Jean Tarbell Craig says husband did not provide and spat in her face
The article goes on to say that Jean filed suit for divorce from Marshall. The complaint was filed 1 year to the day from the date of license to marry was issued and 1 year lacking one day from the date of the couple’s marriage. Jean was 18 at the time of the complaint. Marshall was working as a blacksmith.
The article went on to say that Jean was asking for custody of 2 months old Eva and $800 alimony.
The complaint alleges cruel treatment, failure to male proper provision, to provide Jean with clothing, insane jealously and frequent cursing of Jean. It was also alleged that Marshall refused to allow Jean to attend church and that one occasion he spat in her face.
