At the age of 35, Marshall registered for the draft on September 2, 1918. He is listed at medium height, medium build, blue eyes and light hair. He and Jean lived at 609 E Chestnut Street in Jeffersonville. I took this picture in July 2008 of the house where they lived.
In the 1920 Census Marshall is 37 and Jean is 31 and they are living at 609 E Chestnut in Jeff, with their children, Eva, age 12, Charlotte, age 4; and Ed age 3 months when the census was done January 1920. Marshall was employed as a Steelworker for Car Works.
Sadly, after marrying for the 3rd time and having 5 more children, Jean died February 11, 1929 at the age of 40 and Marshall died less than a year later January 10, 1930, less than 2 weeks after his 47th birthday. Jean died at her home of Influenza and hypostatic pneumonia. Marshall died at Clark County
Hospital of stomach cancer with a hemorrhage as a contributory factor. They are both buried at New Chapel Cemetery.
