SShenandoah Elementary School Graduation 2022 | By Greg Player
henandoah Elementary School’s (SES) 5th Grade class attended their graduation ceremony Thursday, May 19 in SES’s auditorium. The
students received multiple awards based on their academic achievements, abilities and talents. While graduation is a chance to think about the past and wonder about the future, graduation from elementary school marks a major life change for these 11-year-old scholars. For the first time, they will not learn reading, writing, math and science from one classroom teacher but will soon have multiple teachers for every subject. Different classrooms, different classmates, new rules and expectations
plus lockers, band and even sports which will also be a whole new world for parents.
Under the direction of Susan Stevens, Principal of SES recognition for special achievements, most improved citizenship, Presidential awards and certificates of promotion were presented to members of the 5th grade graduating class. Steven also gave a motivational speech to the students on continuing to pursue their education with the same zeal as they have in elementary school. A new award, the True Blue award was also presented to any student who has spent six-years at SES.
The ceremony included both teacher and student presenters. Students Sadeq Alabbadi, Hannah Cropper, Danae Kelly, Hiram Segura and Aiden Myers acted
as Masters of Ceremony, moderators, opened the ceremony and introduced the awards. The entire class entertained parents and guests with the songs, “Everyone Wants to be a Cat” and “What a Wonderful World.” Fifth grade teachers then presented the students with awards and recognition of their achievements.
Once again the Shenandoah Elementary School proved why they are considered one of the top schools in the Parish.
