the proposal and engage the Newton Landscape Group. Motion was unanimously approved.
Website Report – Ed Craig- Ed reported that in its third month of being responsive, the website had its highest level yet. 2500 individual people visited the website in April.
Old Business
BREC Park – The Movie on the Lawn in April was a success. Indoor pickle ball will be played on Wednesday nights from 6-8 starting in May. Facility will be closed on May 28 for Memorial Day. Summer Camp Meet and Greet will be held
on May 31. Fees for the 1st session of Summer Camp will be due on that date. Summer Camp starts June 4 and runs through July 27.
American Flag Project– 15 Boy Scouts and other volunteers put out over 700 flags. Ed and a photographer from The Advocate took pictures of them. They are still working on putting out the rest of them to be completed before May 18. The flags are intended to be displayed throughout the subdivision for the four holidays in May through July, Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day and Flag Day.
New Business
Metro 9 Report – Dwight Hudson - Dwight discussed some items on the agenda for the City Council meeting on May 9. He also explained that the use of the crack sealant on streets throughout Shenandoah will keep water from seeping in to erode the base layer to preserve the roads longer. The dark lines will fade over time. The school crosswalks will be fixed after school is out for the summer. Looking at making some changes to garbage collection days to reduce pickup times. Plan is in place to cut down on the number of contractor signs. Plans are in the works for clearing out various canals and waterways in the parish.
