COSMOS EXPLAINS DISTRACTED DAN
The fable, Distracted Dan, is a story about paying attention. We seldom think of paying attention as being a skill that must be developed and practiced. We get angry when someone is not paying attention to us. We may have to explain something all over again when they failed to pay attention to.
However, paying attention is not just about our frustration because we have to tell them something again. It is about a core skill necessary for happiness and success in life. Every other skill we acquire in life is dependent on our ability to pay attention.
If you are easily distracted, have a hard time concentrating or any other phrases used to describe poor paying attention skills, then almost any learned task such as reading, math, music will be more difficult.
As in our story, this not paying attention has everything to do with allowing our Stinky Thinking to interfere with our life. Dan’s inability to pay attention was not because he wasn’t smart.
