It was easy for me sitting in the tree to blame Red Tail and Fuzzy Tail for what happened to Squiggy. After all, their Stinky Thinking lead to a lot of bad feelings toward Squiggy and to him deciding to leave the colony of squirrels.
But wait a minute! There was a colony of squirrels. That means that there were a lot of them. Why did they let the Stinky Thinking of just two of them cause so much harm to Squiggy?
Think about it. What would you do if someone said, “Let’s not invite so-in-so to play with us because (just any old reason).” Would you say, “Okay, let’s tell them to get lost,” or “Let’s tell them we have enough players now,” or “Let’s just pretend we don’t see them.”
If you said one of those things, you are just like the squirrels in the colony. They let the Stinky Thinking of others determine how they treated Squiggy.
They did not start the problems for Squiggy but they did not do anything to stop them either. When you let this happen, you are just as guilty of Stinky Thinking (prejudice) as the ones who started it. Let your Good Thinking help you stand up to the Stinky Thinking and say “You are being ugly for no good reason and that is wrong.”
