Worksheet
The concept to be understood on this worksheet page is that of “passive responsibility.” It is easy to point out the “villains,” Red Tail and Fuzzy Tail but what about the others in the colony?
Did they all agree with Red Tail and Fuzzy Tail or just go along with Red and Fuzzy? Were they gullible, foolish, or scared? Would the story have turned out differently if some of the other squirrels had stood up and said, “He just does not like chocolate (is different) and that is okay.”
This page gives you the opportunity to discuss, To let prejudice behavior occur and not say or do something to change or stop it is Thumbs Down behavior.” Help your children come up with ways to deal with the Squiggy situation that may also be appropriate for dealing with real life situations.
A key component to being able to be deal with this type of problem is a willingness to deal with the negative reaction of those with the Stinky Thinking. This is a very difficult skill to develop and maintain.
