I continued to visit the zoo for the rest of spring and summer. No matter how much Paul’s mother tried to
get him to pay more attention in school, Paul was always still too interested in playing and acting silly for the human visitors.
Then one day as the weather turned cool, I noticed the adult pandas hugging the youngsters and telling them goodbye. It was time for them to return to the forest.
Even though it was a little sad, all of the young pandas were excited about being able to live in the wild. In fact, there was a big celebration.
After all of the youngsters had left on their trip, I noticed one youngster with a zoo human sitting by himself. It was Paul and he looked very sad. All of the other young pandas were leaving but Paul had played so much that he had to be left behind.
