Howard Whosjobisit
Hi there, Cosmos Crow again. You know, we animals are very, very lucky. Now this might sound strange to you but because our lives are so difficult and dangerous we don’t have time for much Sinky Thinking. You people, on the other hand, have such an easy life (compared to most of us) that you can develop all kinds of
Stinky Thinking.
Of course, there are exceptions in the animal world and I had the opportunity to know one for a short period of time. He was a most human-like squirrel by the name of Howard Whosjobisit. This is Howard’s brief story and I hope you learn something from it.
Howard was a very lucky animal as are most squirrels. They grow up in a nice warm nest provided by their parents. Their home is in a high tree away from most other animals that might want to eat them. They mostly eat nuts, which are very plentiful in the trees where they live.
Now, crows on the other hand have to go all over just to find a little corn or fruit. We have to put up with dogs chasing us
or farmers shooting at us all the time. By comparison with most other animals, squirrels have it really easy. The squirrel of our story, Howard, had it easier than most squirrels. I know this because Howard lived in the same tree that I lived in, only one floor down. I could tell that his family really loved Howard but it did seem to me that he had it a little too easy.
