It is funny how I can travel thousands of miles and find the same old Stinky Thinking we have at home. Polly looked very different from others I have known who needed to be “Perfect,” but her thinking was the same. And just like others with this perfectionistic thinking, they get angry when they don’t win and are quick to blame others.
Now, needing to win that badly may make you work real hard and so you will occasionally win. However, you are never satisfied with just doing your best (if you don’t win) and you are so disagreeable to be around that others avoid you.
Just like with the “nest contest,” Polly made a nice nest. It was round and strong with pretty flowers. But it came in second (others finished third and fourth and so on). However, Polly started raving about the “Stupid blind judges.” Then she fussed at the parrot who had helped her make the nest, blaming her for finishing second and saying “You never do anything right.”
