Orphanage records show that Aunt Charlotte, Uncle Ed, Aunt Gin, Daddy and Uncle George were brought to the home on May 22, 1931.
Aunt Charlotte was “Sent to Aunt in Jeffersonville by Mr. Schlosser”. They refer to Aunt as Mrs. Crowder Notes say that she was removed June 3, 1932 and was in home for 64 days – July 1 quarter.
Uncle Ed was taken by Mrs. Craig (Lora) on June 23, 1931 and later “adopted” by Annie Hines, Rt 1, Box 256 Jeff.
Aunt Gin was taken out by grandfather on June 11, 1931 and then placed with relative Mrs. Crowder on June 13, 1931. Adopted. Aunt Gin was brought back to the home November 7, 1931, and Judge Paris returned her to grandfather Colmore Craig on November 21, 1931.
Daddy was taken by Annie Hines on June 23, 1931 and later placed with grandmother (Lora Craig)
Uncle George was taken out by Alden Sparks on June 13, 1931 and adopted by Alden Sparks in September 1931. He was removed to Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
A note of interest: In the September 2, 1942 minutes of the Board Meeting of the Cornelia Memorial Orphans Home, they talked about updates on former residents. “George, Ralph and Edward Craig are all in the service”.
