Ed and Ralph were discharged from the Marine Corps on April 10, 1946 and returned to Indiana.
Growing up, it was always fun to sit and listen to the “stories” that Uncle Ed and Daddy told when reliving their years together in the Marine Corps. Uncle George would visit them in San Diego and Aunt Gin moved to California to be close to them. As evidenced by old newspaper articles, Aunt Charlotte went to visit as well. Aunt Eva was older and didn’t participate as much, but the younger 5 siblings were very close, and they loved to talk about their fun and not-so-fun times together.
1947: Ed was a driver for the Bridge Transit Company. Ed and Goldie lived at 811 Penn Street in Jeff. It was built in 1930 and has 4 bedrooms, 1,612 sq ft house with a detached garage. This is the house as it looks today.
