Daddy & Uncle Ed 1945: One of the few times Daddy took furlough without Uncle Ed
Charlestown Paper – January 11, 1945
While Daddy was in training in Corvallis, Oregon, he met mother, who lived in Albany, Oregon. After he was discharged from the Marines, he went back to Oregon to get her and take her to Indiana.
1946: Daddy and mother were married on Monday, May 6, 1946, at the home of Aunt Charlotte. Uncle Ed and Aunt Goldie stood up with them. They were married by Brother Howard T. Marsh, pastor of The Church of Christ. Daddy was 22 and mother was 16 – each was one month shy of their next birthday.
