Page 35 - Injustice Collector
P. 35
Worksheet
On this first page of the worksheets, Cosmos explains that our human “injustice spheres” are our memories. The point of the story is not that you should never keep a negative event in your memory but rather that you should evaluate these negative events and determine how much “power” to give them.
There may be certain individuals or situations that cause a problem for you and you know that it could occur again. You may choose to remember that person and situation to avoid the problem occurring again. But as with all Stinky Thinking, Injustice Spheres can occur when there is no justi fcation for them. In the first question regarding Joe Willie and the shoes, “Cosmos was trying to be helpful.” But Joe Willie “turned” it into an Injustice Sphere because of the things he told himself.
When we choose to retrieve negative memories, our emotions are usually negative either toward others or ourselves. Retrieving them can only serve a purpose if we see these memories realistically and then choose to do something differently if a similar situation occurs. But usually that does not happen. We simply dwell on the memory (Injustice Sphere) and get angry or depressed.
Finally Cosmos asks the reader to identify what type of “Collector” they are... ”Sack Carrier,” “Hider,” or “Sign Carrier.” It is also valuable for others to tell us their thinking about our “Collecting” style. If they are honest, it could be very enlightening.
