             Prerequisite / Minimum Competency       Grade 12. Cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher at the end of

                                                     high school semesters, WriterPlacer score of 5-8.

             This course is open to Seniors only. The EMT-Basic certificate program provides training in the emergency medical
             field.  Students will learn to recognize the nature or extent of a patient’s condition, administer appropriate
             emergency medical care to stabilize their condition, and prepare them for transport to the proper medical facility.
             The curriculum follows the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) for EMT-Basic training.
             Students will receive in-class lecture and skills training, including CPR training, as well as 25 hours of hands-on
             clinical experience. To be eligible for employment as an EMT-Basic, students must successfully complete the class
             and must take and pass the National Registry EMT-B Test to obtain their license.
