 substantial transparency was a call out in forums and could be found in light and airy textures. organdy and organza continue as a key base cloth. however they are increasingly soft and less round.
plissé is not going anywhere. it was still happening and was a signature fabric on many designer assortments. this trend has made a clear evolution from clean cut knife-like pleating to now a wider range of organic looking plissé effects. visionland, camin + bravoworld had a lot of innovation in this category.
femi and floaty clip textures in sheer and soft colorways contrasted by utility outfitting was a new twist on caron callahan’s spring collection. pairing these two fabrications looked fresh. mills were continuing to highlight clip textures as they extend into this year’s trends.
there was a ‘return of sheer’ and one of our favorite things about this trend was finding them in stunning assortments of acidic colors. this allowed base cloths such as crinkle chiffons stand alone as a solid vehicle. layer versions were
found while shopping in antwarp both over prints and unexpected mixes of colors.
