 TWEED TEXTURE
tweed was by far the largest footprint in the pv forums (yes tweed!). don’t be scared of this emerging classic and historically ‘stuffy’ trend. overall, tweed was spun into a less pretentious version of itself. most always found in relaxed and easy silos. forte forte mastered the use of this high trend fabric and perfectly assorted it alongside sensual fluid fabrications.
by now you’re probably noticing a repetitiveness in mentioning interesting assortments and merchandised combinations. this was an overarching take way from the trip that we highlighted in the early march presentation. there were so many clever and unexpected pairings with fabric as the top of mind.
while roaming through paris’s clignancourt flea, we picked up blankets, vintage scraps and scarves to inspire us with new weaves and textures to reimagine in tweed like fabrications.
by far the prettiest version of tweed was with soft and subtle hints of shine. shine is an overarching message and paired with tweed made the perfect high/low within one fabrication. it was very tasteful and dainty in its usage and again offers a nice juxtaposition.
modern and bold versions of this trend added a fun layer at this time frame. it was a great emotional spring forward item but still very ‘wear now’. we also enjoyed experimenting with dye techniques and over dyed effects on solid tweed textures.
