INDIGO NOVELTY
with indigo, we focused our raw materials search on high novelty. levi’s had a surprisingly feminine denim jacquard statement at paris’s bon marché. found in jackets more so than pants. this sparked an interested in finding a range of this trend at the shows we later attended. we also loved seeing bleach techniques layered on top of indigo jacquards and patchworking.
in addition to the indigo femme trend, we were still seeing geo patterns continue. On a wide range of indigo fabrications we saw geos uses in quilting, jacquards and embroideries.
there were a vast amount of indigo stripes still happening. the newest versions were blurred and color faded. dye technique stripes were another way to get to this idea.
bleached out or sun faded looking indigo was having a big comeback. the brand closed showcased extreme bleach outs where the indigo color appears powdery or pastel.
