HOLDEN COLLECTION: OBJECTS OF NATIONAL SIGNIFICANCE Holden Collection consists of approximately 1,400 items that were made or used in Louisiana in the early 18th-century to about 1830.
Colonial Armoire in the French Canadian Manner, 1750-1770: A most remarkable survival. It speaks of our Canadian heritage and peoples. An important piece of furniture. Featured in Furnishing Louisiana
Inlaid Creole-Style Armoire, 1810-1830
The “butterfly man armoire”. The most important Creole-Style armoire. This piece will be used in a forth-coming exhibit at the Man” armoires. This is among the best in its group.

Colonial Armoire, 1770-1790 The most aesthetically pleasing of the colonial armoires contents on the back of the door. Featured in Furnishing Louisiana
Acadian Style Armoire, 1820-1840
Small Acadian Style armoire very similar to Canadian examples. Featured in Furnishing Louisiana
Slat Back Colonial Chair, 1750-1800 A History of the slat back chairs start with this example. Featured in Furnishing Louisiana
