                                                            Goats in the Garden
It was a treat for Priory’s expansive garden, our sustainability efforts, and our students when 250+ goats arrived on our campus for a week in March. The goats grazed invasive thistle, grasses, and new pest plant species
that were finding a home on our campus and taking valuable water from plants necessary to our ecosystem. The goat grazing was a new addition to our sustainability efforts and benefitted the garden immensely in the coming spring and summer. Destructive rodents could no longer hide in the lush vegetation, native grasses returned to take the place of the invasive plants, and helpful microorganisms took root in the soil again.
