ANNUAL REPORT 2017 – 2018
FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL
Dear Priory Community,
There’s never been more to celebrate at the Priory!
With the wrap-up of the four-year-long Building Ingenuity campaign, the campus has been physically transformed. We owe immense gratitude to the 180 generous donors who helped modernize the campus through 45,000 square feet of new and transformed space, including the Joe Montero Aquatic Center, Trudelle Family Track, Benedictine classrooms, LaureL STREAM Center, Schilling Square, Church Square, and the Franklin Garden Pavilion. Priory’s vibrant culture of philanthropy is contagious.
We were exceptionally pleased with annual giving results in the 2017-2018 year. More than $3 million was raised from members of our community through our Annual Fund, golf classic, and gala. We were especially touched when 70% of the Class of 2018 made their first gift to Priory ahead of graduation, unanimously directing their gifts toward the newly created Joseph B. Montero, Jr., Endowed Scholarship Fund. It is the culture of giving back that shows the strength of our community.
We were thrilled to gather and celebrate with you this past year at two alumni reunions, regional alumni socials spanning both coasts, and our annual alumni parent event at the newly opened STREAM Center. In celebration of our 60th anniversary, all
past gala and Priory Parent Association chairs were invited and recognized at our annual Volunteer Appreciation Brunch in April. If we missed you this year, we hope to see you back on campus or at an upcoming event in the coming year.
While our appearance has changed, the core of Priory has not. We continue to treasure the vision of our founding monks as we provide a Benedictine education that prepares students “to serve a world in need of their gifts.” As we mourn the passing of our beloved Father Pius, we rejoice in the arrival of Father Matthew, our newest monk, who joined our community in August.
Thank you to all members of the Priory community who have so generously given of your time, talent, and treasure this past year to support the Priory’s vision for the future.
With humble gratitude and appreciation,
Tim Molak Head of School
