But how lovely it is
To feel the rain form goosebumps On my skin.
How wonderful
To watch the sheep
Graze on sweet green grass,
To smell rosewater
And listen to my mother’s soft hum While she cooks.
How lovely it is
To hear the birds sing
When the sunrise pulls her brush Through the sky,
Blues and pinks and yellows Bringing us to a new day,
A new reminder that I
Am still alive,
Still painfully, beautifully
Alive.
I am alive, Gleaming
Like a penny on the sidewalk, Waiting to bring a wandering child A bit of luck
And a peal of happy laughter.
What a shame it would be
To put such a magnificently fleeting Light
To waste.
