Tapestries That Make You by Naomi Aalfs
Dreams are rainbows of colors and themes. Bright tapestries that flutter in the wind. But don’t reach too far to get to them,
Or they will pull away from us and vanish.
Maybe we’ll remember them,
And if we do,
Savor the memory of that soft and colorful cloth, Or it, too, will vanish.
Or if they’re not soft and colorful,
They are coarse and itchy and without color. We pull away from these, and push them away, But they stay at the edge of our minds,
And haunt us.
Heed warnings in your dreams, Listen to their messages,
For they are yours,
And you make them,
But they make you yourself.
