“So are you going to ask her to dance or are you going to chicken out?”
“I don’t know..... I think she hates me ....” whispered the boy.
“Dude! She probably doesn’t know you exist” responded Turner.
“Thanks, Turner ... helps a lot” bemoaned the boy.
“I’m just saying, you have to ask her if you want anything to happen. She’s not going to say yes unless you .................” started Turner.
In that instant, she walked out onto the empty square, and Turner and his comments faded into the mindless music of the night. The flickering lights ofthe dance blended into the black of the chilly night. Again, his world froze. His eyes met hers and quickly a shiver of embarrassment swam through him, forcing him to awkwardly glance away. The boy blushed and decided to check if his shoelaces were still where had left them roughly a minute ago. Feeling Turner’s glare against his neck, the boy proceeded to untie then tie his shoes again.
