                    FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL
Dear Priory Community,
It’s a wonderful time to be at the Priory!
This past year brought joy and renewal
to our community. We were thrilled to welcome back Father Matthew Leavy, OSB, who served The Priory from 1968-1977 before he was assigned to Saint Anselm College and later elected Abbot of the Monastic community. We were delighted to observe how deeply he connected with our students, faculty, staff, and parent community. The continued presence of our Monks as faith leaders and role models is a blessing that “keeps on giving.”
Representatives from three accrediting
agencies visited as part of our seven-year
accreditation renewal process. The Priory
community conducted a self-study, which
the visiting committee of educators read
and, when on campus in January, they met
many members of our community and observed the unique aspects of The Priory Way. We were deeply touched by their positive compliments and analysis of multiple facets of our school community and curriculum, including our rich history of philanthropy. It is this culture of philanthropy that inspires you and others to invest in our future.
The dining hall and kitchen renovation kicked off at the end of the school year and we’re looking ahead with anticipation to the completion in December. Construction will also begin soon to expand our campus housing for faculty and staff with six new units on Gambetta Lane.
We were thrilled with the annual giving results in the 2018-2019 year. More than $3 million was raised from our community through our annual fund, golf classic, and gala.
The year also brought our most competitive admission season yet with a 35% increase in applications. Our dormitory students received an enriched wellness program focusing on sleep, fitness, and healthy eating. We remain immensely proud of our 2019 graduates who led the school community with grace and maturity in the 2018-2019 school year and are now beginning their college careers.
Whether you’re a Priory alumnus or alumna, current or alumni parent, member of our Chapel community, or a friend of the Priory, we thank you for your support this past year and look forward to holding you as a friend for years to come.
With the school year ahead being my last at the Priory, I am filled with gratitude and appreciation at how our school has been transformed over the past decade and how our Benedictine values continue to guide the Priory of today.
Sincerely,
Tim Molak Head of School
