It’s the fourth quarter. The gym lights are beaming down. The basketball bounces off the backboard and lands right in your hands. This is your shot. You sprint down the court in a fast break; no one can stop you. You charge to the hoop and throw the ball up. Swish.
The Middle School Boys’ Basketball season has been full of excitement, passion, and a whole lot of talent. Over twenty young ballers came to try out and join the team with a drive to play their best. The boys were split into four teams based on their varying skill levels, ranging from most advanced to intermediate to some ballers who just want to have fun and learn more about the awesome sport of basketball. Coach Buck says, “We want to find a good balance between learning the game and improving their skills. I think we’re doing a good job of that. What’s also really great is that a lot of these guys definitely have a lot of skill”.
Player Will El Fishawy (8) says “I’ve been having a lot of fun playing but I also realize that I have to give it my all in order to make my team better. Even though I’ve been playing for a while, I’m still learning how to improve every time I play.” Great job, ballers!
1.Nikhlas Mulligan (7) eyes the ball coming off the hoop and prepares to rush in for the rebound. 2. Will El Fishawy (8) swiftly evades a player on the opposing team by employing his awesome ball handling skills. 3. Calvin Katz (8) speeds in to steal the ball away from a player on the other team. Nice stuff!. 4. The proud team huddles together to boost each other's spirits and prepare to gain more victories on the court.
