Benedictines from around the world discussed keeping the Rule alive in the new academic year and new century. WPS hosted the educational leaders this summer. See Benedictine Letter, pages 4-5
Family-Friendly Internet Sites can keep everyone constructively occupied through a rainy spell. Faculty member Mitch Neuger, who uses the Internet frequently in his classes, recommends some sites to try. In a related article, parent LeeAnn McDermott reviews parents’ options in screening what kids see. Both are in Faculty Focus, page 6
Mitch Neuger, Sixth Grade Faculty, explores “Dot Com Destinations”. Page 6

The Schilling family originally brought spice to the bay area and now Andy Schilling is bringing financial expertise to bay area non-profits, including WPS. See Trustee Interview, page 7
Bright students are quick to respond to Dora Arredondo’s academic head start program with the Peninsula Bridge. This Priory graduate brings hands-on teaching skill, fluent Spanish, and a background in juvenile justice to her job. See Alumni Interview, page 8.
Contributions from the heart — of time, money, thought and care - are what keep the WPS community thriving. Every individual in the 1999-2000 Contributors is genuinely and sincerely appreciated. See the size of this supportive group of people, beginning on page 9. A summary financial report for 1999-2000 is on page 22.
Correction: In the July issue, the name of Ed Wilson, Class of 2000, was omitted from the list of graduates due to a printer’s error after the final proof left WPS. Ed is attending Occidental College.
