Sixth grade survivor
For the sixth grade students, Outdoor Education is a chance to bond with their classmates, challenge themselves, and experience things that they will never forget. Going into middle school can be terrifying, but after spending three days together as a community, a bond is forged that can never be broken.

Grace Bhagat (6) was glad she tired the Vertical playpen. “I liked the vertical playpen because it was a challenge.” she said, soaring higher thanthirtyfeetintheair, thiscoursewasnotforthefaint of heart. There was also a zip line located high up in the redwood trees. “Zip lining was scary because climbing up the tree was so slippery, and I kept slipping” Anna Dyckerhoff (6) said.

One of the most important and iconic parts of Priory Outdoor Education is the candle ceremony. When asked what happens during this sacred ceremony, Grace Bhagat replied “We passed a candle around to the whole grade and had to say what we were thankful for and I said my friends and new teachers.” Each studentgotachancetosharetheirfeelingswiththeir new classmates. Anna Dyckerhoff disclosed, “I am grateful for having the chance to get to know all of my new friends and for the delicious food.” Justin Corley definitelyagreed,“Thefoodwasthebest!”Headded.
Overall, sixth grade Outdoor Education was a success, and it prepared the sixth grade class for an exciting middle school experience.
How has your day been?
“Its been really good, I started the day with a bowl of cinnamon toast crunch which was prime because it's my favorite cereal, and I found my sweater which I was looking for.” Brianna Maroney (8)
