In the hills of Portola Valley, down the breezeway alley lies a cluster of students that are the class of 2017. Sophomore year is no comparison to being a Freshman; pressures have increased, the social scene has changed, and maintaining a balanced lifestyle is a challenge. Not only are there more choices, but the interests and activities pursued become part of each individual's identity. According to Wako Morimoto (10) sophomore year, “is a lot harder than last year, but at the same time, I am more comfortable being around friends and teachers,” while Margot Heron (10) felt similarly that while the course load is an increase, she has, “a more established friend group”.
