Thefootballplayershaveadream.Theywanttobeknown aslegends,astheteamwhoheldthelongestwinningstreak inCalifornia.Eventhoughwe'rejustasmallprivateschoolin Portola Valley, the boys were determined to make history. Overtheyears,Priory'sfootballprogramhasbeenimproving to reach its goal of making Priory football known. Chris Bruggersays,”Iwanttolearnmoreandbeapartofateam thathasanundefeatedthisyear,asafreshman.”Thisyear, Priory's football team was named number one team in the state for division 5. This is the first time the Priory football team was named number one in the state for Division 5. Priory'sfootballteamhassixseniorswhoareoutnumbered bytheeightfreshmen.Somefreshmanareevenstartingin games!Priory lost twelve seniors this year, so the freshmen
hadtotakeover.“Iseealotoftalentandoncethey mature,they'llbeready”,saysMaxReines(12)about theteam'syoungestmembers.Alloftheupperclassmen see a lot of potential in them and can't wait for them to improve.“Thefuturelooksgood,”CoachDougSargent states confidently, “Our goal was to represent Priory football,andtheyhavedoneagreatjob”.Theyended upbeingthenumberoneteamondivision5.“Theteam provides a good sense of family,” says Christian Kruep (12), a team captain. “We've really gotten to know each other.” The football team's strong community, and everyone'scontributiononandoffthefield,havehelped thefootballteamtoobtainaspotatthetop.
