2. Emily Stanger (9) dashes down a trail at the Toro Park race in Salinas, remaining at the front of the pack. “There are a lot more fast runners, and the performance is a lot better in races” remarks returning runner, Zoe Verma (10) about the new additions to the team.
3. The team jogs around the track during their obligatory warm-up run. The addition of nearly twenty new runners has improved the team greatly, especially with particularly adept runners such as Ronan Park (9), a Freshman who is already a varsity team member. “I love running and the rush I get from it,” he enthused. “I love the feeling at the races when the gun goes off and it’s just the course in front of me.” Based on his performance in races and on the team, it’s not hard to understand why!
