TIM Tutorial – Fractionalizing Inventory
A key component in customizing TIM is the ability to fractionalize inventory to match a shop’s specific needs. Most of this work occurs during the installation and the use of the Fractionalization Worksheet is recommended.

A. Fractionalizing for Technician Checkout
1. Ifatechnicianwillbecheckingoutlessthanafullpackagetheinventory needs to be set up accordingly
a. Trytoidentifythepartnumberstobefractionalizedpriorto installation, use the Fractionalization Worksheet to gather this information
b. Checkoutquantitymustbeevenlydivisibleintopackagequantity.For example, if there are 15 pieces in a package the product must be checked out in quantities of 1, 3, or 5
2. Inthisexample,wewillsetupNOR.06014(15/box)tobecheckedout3 discs at a time and the shop has 12 discs on hand
a. On the inventory screen, click on the “Edit” button next to NOR.06014
b. Ontheeditingpage:
1) SelectFractional:Yes
2) Type “3 DISCS” in Unit Name (this will print on barcode label)
3) Set checkout units in billing units to 5, the system will now see the
box of 15 as 5 packs of 3
4) Set “Checkout Units on Hand” to 4 (12 discs = 4 packs of 3)
5) Click “SAVE” at the bottom of screen
