WHY ARE THEY SO IMPORTANT
The high touch surfaces in the resident or patient room are generally surfaces closest to them or touched when they get out of the bed and move to and from the washroom.
Basically, for a resident or patient to make their way to and from the bathroom, most of the above surfaces will be touched before and after they have washed their hands.
