PATIENT ROOM STEPS
Step 1
Step 2
Step 3
Wash hands and glove up
If your gloves have been used to clean and touch surfaces in a previous room, then it is of the utmost importance that you discard those gloves, wash your hands, and dry them thoroughly, before putting on a new pair of gloves.
Step 4
Dust all High and Low surfaces with a Shaggy Duster
Dusting your high and low surfaces should be a daily task, so that dust does not get a chance to build up. Any dust left in a room can be circulated via air flow and inhaled by a patient, visitor or staff member.
Step 5
Wipe Touch Points
Damp wipe starting with Touch-Points like door handles and light switches, before unfolding your cloth to the next side and wiping bed surfaces, bedside table and surrounding furniture. Finish by wiping any visible marks on walls.
Clean glass & mirrors
Clean Glass or Mirrors with a Glass Microfibre pad on a Hand held holder. If using window cleaner, spray glass or mirror before wiping dry.
Empty & Replace Bin Liner
Tie waste bin before removing from bin & replace bin liner. Place waste in bag on back of trolley.
