PRESIDENT'S Message
Josh Greene Arrick's Propane
I would like to personally thank you for your support of the Ohio Propane Gas Association. It is companies and leaders like you that are vital to the continued success of the propane industry in Ohio. Although we have challenges, Ohio is fortunate that our industry is not facing the kind of attacks that are under way in other states. However, we must aggressively work to protect our in- dustry and tell the story that propane is clean energy, available now.
In addition to being an OPGA member, I would like to challenge you to get involved in your asso- ciation. Our industry can benefit greatly from your ideas, your experience, and your relationships. Please consider attending our next quarterly meeting scheduled for February 13, 2024. Pick a com- mittee that you find interesting and sit in on that meeting. Your involvement is vital to OPGA’s future success.
I would like to provide a summary of what OPGA is doing and some of the major benefits for mem- bers:
• Instructor led employee training classes scheduled around the state.
• Propane Emergency Responder Training around the state.
• Newest versions of NFPA 54 & 58 hardback books available at meetings in 2024.
• Rebates to retailers for “Duty to Warn” mailings.
• Planning and coordination of our Day at the Statehouse which gives members the opportuni-
ty to meet with state legislators to discuss propane’s challenges and opportunities.
• Promoting the environmental benefits of propane as a clean energy.
• Developing materials, videos, and social media content for members to use in their businesses.
I truly believe that the future of the propane industry is bright not only in the state of Ohio, but across the country. I look forward to working alongside other members of OPGA to protect and promote propane as clean energy for today and for the future.
Your 2024 dues invoices will soon be in the mail. The OPGA membership is a diverse group of suppliers, transport companies, equipment vendors, and propane retail marketers that function as one cohesive group to support the growth, safety, and sustainability of the propane industry. Please continue your financial support and involvement to the future success of the association and of the propane industry. Finally, the OPGA reminds you that you can pay your annual dues online; simply visit www.ohiopropanegas.org/join. If you have any questions, please contact the OPGA headquarters.
