MICHIGAN PODIATRISTS OFFER FIRST LINE OF DEFENSE FOOT CARE.
“Shoe structure affects foot structure,” says Dr. Patouhas. “Wearing poor fitted shoes can cause long-term foot issues including foot deformity. Add a chronic disease to the mix and it can turn into a serious health issue.”
The APMA survey found 74% of individuals who were over- weight and 81% of people who were obese experienced foot problems including heel pain, plantar fasciitis, tendinitis, bone spurs and stress fractures due to the pressure on the feet.
Michigan Podiatrists offer first-line-of-defense foot care. They are medically trained to identify medical issues by inspecting the foot and ankle for overall structure and function. Doctors of Podiatric Medicine resolve nearly every foot and ankle issue including performing surgery. They also help with footwear all- around-fit including the toe box and heel.
