Harriet’s Birthday
Last July, Harriet joined Harvest Christian College as the school’s Wellbeing Dog. Last week we celebrated her first birthday! She was very spoiled, and we all celebrated with some delicious chocolate cake.
As a Wellbeing Dog, Harriet’s presence has positively impacted the school community, helping to
reduce stress and anxiety levels, improve overall wellbeing, and create a more inclusive and supportive environment. In addition to her daily duties, Harriet has participated in various school events, such as the annual sports day, assemblies, and charity fundraisers.
Harriet’s role in the school continues to grow and develop, and she will become even more integrated into the school’s curriculum and extra-curricular activities, including providing individual support to students. Next term, Harriet will begin working alongside students in their individualised reading programs.
When Harriet is not on yard duty or in classrooms, she spends her time in the school’s Wellbeing Centre, where students can access her easily. Her calming presence and unique abilities have enhanced learning experiences, provided emotional support, and fostered positive relationships among students and staff.
Understanding Easter
Last week, Foundation Clifford embarked on a captivating exercise that involved creating crosses while delving into the Gospel Story, focusing on the good news of Jesus. Through this activity, students gained a further understanding of the significance of Easter, which was further unpacked over the past few days, during Holy Week.
The exercise also allowed students to practice fine motor skills as they carefully tore the coloured sheets for the background and skillfully cut out the cross and the hill.
They now have a further understanding of how much Jesus loves them!
