Staff Appreciation Week
Last week, SWAT (Staff Wellbeing Action Team) orchestrated a week of activities to show our staff that they are truly appreciated for all they do, both seen and unseen, in their service to each other, our families and our incredible students.
Monday - Harvest staff received a token of appreciation in their pigeon holes. The tokens provided our team with a complimentary coffee from the staff room coffee machine. Two tables were set aside for different staff activities remained there for the week. One table had interesting puzzles for our ‘puzzling staff’, and the other had mindfulness colouring. Both activities are renowned for enhancing
a calm and peaceful mindset. These activities created a serene atmosphere in the staff room.
Tuesday - Staff were treated with a yummy and healthy afternoon tea, coffee from our connoisseur Dan the Man, and a hoot in a Kahoot Quiz! Staff organised themselves in teams, put their thinking caps on and gave it their best shot. Categories included Harvest’s early days, Mathematics, Geography and some general knowledge. A number of our staff learnt a new thing or two! Did you know Mr Rob Tucker is our longest-running staff member? He has faithfully served our school community since before it began in 2000!
Wednesday - What better way to start the day at Harvest than with a hearty breakfast! SWAT and a few extra faithful helpers were up early, cooking and serving our staff, fuelling them with a sumptuous feast consisting of bacon, sausages, eggs, croissants, toast, juice and coffee. YUM! - Thanks, SWAT!
Thursday - Harvest Staff were blessed and encouraged by a devotion led by some of our secondary students.
Throughout the day and the week, staff have received encouraging notes and cards from students across the school. Students have been sharing their appreciation for staff, identifying staff support, care, encouragement, and example for loving Jesus. How beautiful is the gift of encouragement that our students can bless our staff.
Friday - Harvest staff were served delicious barista-made coffee, delivered with a smile of gratitude from members of our Student Representative Council. It was an excellent way to end Staff Appreciation Week, and we thank God for the blessing our hard-working staff are to Harvest Christian College.
‘I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, because your faith is being proclaimed throughout the whole world.‘
