Featured Commentary (May): Evidentiary Photographs
Originals vs. Everything Else (including PDFs and PPTs)
We have previously highlighted the importance of knowing details of a
photographic image – EXIF data and file properties, and how deeper forensic
analysis can uncover false photographic evidence. Here we share why anything
other than original image files is not evidence, including for courtroom
demonstrative purposes. We will also share additional resources important to
image formats, what is ‘original’ and the importance of having the best
photographic evidence – not copies, prints, or other non-native formats of the original image files. (continued below)
Its in the Details, Evidence, and Strategy
The end of March and beginning of April brought us great news from clients. In
that time we learned initial phone consultation advice we gave public defender
clients, and their hard work, resulted in prosecution dropping charges at
preliminary hearings. This year several others have been dismissed or
appropriately pled after our initial discovery review & analysis. 2022 was a very
good year, and 2023 looks to be better. We greatly appreciate working with our
attorney-clients for the outcomes the evidence shows. Our justice system has
this kind of dedication from all involved.
