Book Lovers
“Book Lovers” by Emily Henry sat on my lap.
I came here with the intent to read it.
But the atmosphere drew me in.
The wind provided a nice cool breeze that was refreshing
after dealing with the hot summer days,
and it was the only noise there was.
Turns out 5:37 a.m. was not a time that drew a lot of noise.
But it made it even more peaceful.
The sand was already everywhere, and I knew it was going to
get in my car, but I simply did not care.
The moon shined on the ocean, showing how unexpectedly
still it was.
It was tempting to get in, if only I had a towel and my swimsuit.
After a few more minutes of just staring, I opened my book.
I was welcomed with the same comforting words
I had read many times before,
and I began reading.
