What a Director!
Swami was not aentive to Sharon or me upon our arrival and did not let on about the filming until the crew arrived. At Philip’s first darshan, Swami turned to him and asked, “How many in the crew?” Philip replied, “Five,” and then Swami materialized four pieces of rock candy for them. Philip wondered why only four pieces. He then realized that he had counted his wife who wasn’t part of the crew, so there were actually only four crew members.
When we began the project, we intuitively knew that Swami was the director, but we still got drawn into the illusion that we were the ones in charge. As we got deeper into the project, we saw that Swami was directing more than just the film; he had control over extraordinary forces as well. One day, the crew came to the gate of the inner grounds where Swami’s house (designed like a lotus) was located. We were stopped at some distance from Swami’s house and wondered how we could ever get a good shot. The equipment was heavy, so we put it down for a rest in a spot that turned out to be perfect.
The camera was turned to Swami’s house, and the moment we were ready, a radiant Swami appeared. He slowly walked down the stairs and into the sunlight. The lighting and the unfolding scene could not have been more exhilarating. Five
hundred young male students, dressed immaculately in white, were silently waiting for Swami at the base of the stairs. Swami approached the young students, who were alive with devotion. He stopped, materialized vibhuti for a few, turned, and came
