all-consuming love that transcends all worldly experiences.4 If we cannot love to that extent, we can learn how to step aside (quiet our egos) and let Swami’s love work through us. Eventually we realize that Swami’s love is our own love.
Doing our duty and upholding dharma in our communities protects us from chaos. Other ways of transcending suffering include constant repetition of His name, practicing sense control, reading and contemplating Swami’s teachings (or those of your tradition and religion), practicing silence, and remembering experiences with God.

9. Merge in Sai’s Love. Love for a divine being is a stepping stone to achieving boundless love. In this way inner love can expand and merge into God’s love, so that He and you become one. This state is one of pure divine love, infinite awareness, boundless bliss, and eternal peace. In the place of “Sai” you may use the name of God that has most personal meaning to you.
A Guide to Right Thinking
The importance of right thinking and correct self inquiry cannot be overstated. It is a great step in our spiritual progress when we realize how undisciplined and off target our thinking can be. This realization will strengthen our focus on Swami’s words. Surrendering the mind to Swami’s teachings by imbibing, digesting, integrating, and practicing them is the sacrificial stage of devotion.
Holding close to these nine elements gives me a place of refuge. If I am uneasy with a problem, I contemplate
