Since we have begun this journey, that has changed. More people know what I know and is creating the depth we are always striving for. I think this is also true for many others on the team.
What’s next? How will we define beyond the basics?
In many ways, we are back to the basics of what the independent insurance agency from 50-75 years ago looked like. We spend a lot of time discussing how customers can be served
with the mass consolidation of agencies. We think there is something to what we are doing and we are working to serve our customers. We plan to be independent for a long time to come and always come back to the basics.
We thought we needed to go through this cycle for a year to see it all, but I don’t think that will be the case. This will not end. This is the best way to get our staff trained. I have been in this agency for 26 years and I count myself as being in training too. This is an industry where you will never have enough knowledge.
We are a TEAM. It has been transformative to my leadership and understanding of what our team, agency and customers need. I come out of many of our meetings re-energized and so proud of our work.
