P. 15

Dr. Yoav Livneh explores how the brain perceives and integrates diverse bodily signals, such as heart rate, temperature, satiety, infammation, fatigue, arousal, and thirst, and how that brain-body integration function and malfunctions in health or mental illness.
Dr. Michal Ramot is developing new neurofeedback techniques combined with fMRI, through which she can ‘rewire’ neural circuits identifed as problematic; this work might form the basis for novel interventions for people with mental illnesses.
Prof. Ofer Yizhar is optimizing optogenetics tools to test hypotheses regarding neural circuit dysfunction associated with autism spectrum disorder and schizophrenia, as well as mood and anxiety disorders.
