THE TIME:
NOW
THE PLACE:
THE WEIZMANN INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE
Humans are amazing creatures, conscious and conscientious, capable of logic and intuition, moving with grace, but whose esh is heir to innumerable forms of dysfunction. We have only just begun to appreciate how truly magni cent and complex the human brain is, and how challenging its repair in states of disease and dysfunction.
Neuropsychiatric disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and brain injury are growing and urgent public health challenges. But now, after rapid progress in technology and research, particularly in the last two decades, scientists nally have the tools and perspective to examine the human brain in greater-than-ever detail, using brain stimulation, sophisticated microscopy techniques, the most powerful imaging capabilities, optogenetics, genetic engineering and sequencing techniques, and more.
We are at a tipping point of discovery.
The driving force at the Weizmann Institute of Science is the pursuit of excellence and leveraging curiosity to advance discovery in the natural and exact sciences. The Institute possesses an exquisite synergy of expertise, insight, and technological advancements in neuroscience and seeks your partnership to take brain and neural science to the next level.
