Marsha’s Turkey Burgers
Ingredients:
• 1 medium onion, chopped
• 1 1⁄2 tsp (7 mL) olive oil
• 1 lb (500 g) ground turkey
• 3⁄4 cup (175 mL) old-fashioned oatmeal
• 1⁄4 cup (60 mL) ground flaxseed
• 1⁄4 cup (60 mL) ketchup/BBQ sauce (your choice)
• 1 beaten egg
• 1⁄2 tsp (2 mL) dried tarragon or mustard
• Salt and pepper (optional)
Cook Time: about 8 min. Yields: about 6 burgers
Make it!
• Sauté onion in oil until translucent. Set aside to cool.
• Mix ground turkey, oats, flaxseed, ketchup, egg and tarragon until blended.
• Stir in onions.
• Form into patties.
• Grill about 4 minutes per side.
Use a grilling sheet to prevent burg- ers from crumbling through the grill. The burgers will still show the grill marks and will cook even faster.
