3. Will you be making extenders with Ceramide because they sometimes irritate the skin?
a. I’ll share that feedback with the R&D team. There are new ideas in the pipeline.
The appliance is more square and the extenders more round. So it doesn’t form a complete circle which would give you a better seal for a shower, etc.
b. With any product with tape, never put tension on your appliance when you apply it, because it can create those shear forces on the skin. I’ll share your concern with the team.
4. Do you make a tool other than scissors to punch out your hole in the flange?
a. No, we don’t have a punch. However, we do male products available pre-cut for the most com- mon stoma sizes (Ceraplus steps up in 5mm increments) and that includes convex appliances.
5. Will you be making a night bag for colostomies so I don’t have to get up in the night (loose output)? a. This might be your year!
6. Hollister has so many operations globally; is your R&D distributed or centralized?
a. The hub of our traditional R&D is based in Illinois and all our labs are there. Our global marketing team is dispersed around the world and connects with different customers, end users, new patients and clinicians to get feedback from all quarters to help understand local preferences and needs.
7. I have a urostomy and use CeraPlus8412, but find it difficult to peel off the release liner. The thick plastic peels up and sticks and I have difficulty getting it started.
a. You need to start at the corner where the paper is and pull the plastic off.
8. Is there a longer wait time to get pre-cut flanges? a. No. We keep those stocked up.
9. My stoma is very oval so precut circles don’t work for me. Do precuts cost more?
a. No. We don’t pre-cut to order but we do have oval-cutting guides for convex product. Deirdre will send them out to you.
10. Will Jenn Brewer take any appointments at this time?
a. Lots of confusion about this. Some say call direct; others say you need a referral from your doctor to Dr. Lisi. Jenn will be at next meeting in April and can clear things up.
